Ductless Mini-Split Installation in Germantown, MD
Have a room that never gets comfortable, an addition with no ducts, or a bonus room over the garage that bakes in summer and freezes in winter? A ductless mini-split heats and cools that space without tearing into walls for new ducts. Tell us the rooms, and we will walk you through where the equipment goes.
Heating and CoolingEquipment InstallationClear Written Scope
A mini-split is simple to picture. One unit sits outside, and one or more small indoor heads mount in the rooms you want to fix. Each head heats and cools its own room. That is what makes it such a good answer for a sunroom, a finished basement, an addition or an upstairs that the central system never quite reaches.
Only a thin line runs between the outdoor unit and each indoor head, so there is no need to open up ceilings for ductwork. One outdoor unit can feed several rooms, and each room can hold its own temperature. One thing to know up front: on many multi-room setups the whole system heats or cools at once, so we go over what your equipment can and cannot do before you pick it.
What the Installation Covers
We plan a mini-split around your rooms: where each head looks best and works best, and the cleanest route for the line between the indoor heads and the outdoor unit. Before any of that, we look at the heating and cooling you already have, and if a repair or a different choice would serve you better, we say so.
What This Covers
The areas you want served and the proposed indoor-unit locations recorded in the scope
Indoor unit placement chosen for airflow, water drainage and the look of the room
Refrigerant pipe route and its protective cover planned before the first hole is drilled
Condensate routed to an accessible drain or a condensate pump where a drain is not available
Outdoor unit set on a pad or wall bracket with the clearances the equipment requires
Connection to a compatible existing electrical supply within our scope
Protected pipe joining, removal of air and moisture, and leak testing before the refrigerant amount is set
Refrigerant charge set and verified to the equipment instructions
Completed operating checks and any limits explained, followed by a walkthrough of the thermostat and settings
When a Mini-Split Is the Right Answer
A room or addition the existing ducts do not reach
A space that is always warmer or cooler than the rest of the house, once the cause has been checked
A home with no ductwork, or a level of the home the central system cannot serve well
A finished or converted space or addition that needs its own temperature control
A room where a ductless unit can be placed and connected without adding ducts
Equipment Options
We explain the proposed indoor and outdoor equipment, the areas it will serve and the mounting and connection work. The written scope identifies the selected equipment.
How a Ductless Installation Runs
We check the cause first
A hot or cold room can come from airflow, a duct problem or the existing equipment. We assess before proposing new equipment.
We plan the zones and the route
We agree on indoor unit positions, refrigerant pipe routes, water drainage and the outdoor location before ordering equipment.
You get the whole scope in writing
The written scope names the equipment, the zones, the route and the sequence before work starts.
We install and explain the completed checks
We explain the completed installation checks, any limits and how to use the thermostat and settings.

Yes, a lot of them run several indoor heads off one outdoor unit. We lay out exactly which rooms get a head in the written scope so you know what you are getting.
Cold-climate models hold up well in our winters, but not every unit heats the same when it gets really cold. We match the equipment to your home and tell you if backup heat belongs in the plan.
Often no. On many home systems the whole thing is either heating or cooling at once, even though each room sets its own temperature. We tell you plainly what your equipment can do before you buy it.
Each indoor head drains a little water as it cools. We plan a drain route for it, or add a small pump when it cannot drain on its own.
Usually it is airflow: a long duct run, a room far from the system, or a system that was never balanced for how you actually live. Sometimes the fix is simple, and sometimes zoning or a ductless unit for that one room is the real answer. We will tell you what is actually causing it and the honest options, from the cheapest fix up.
The ones we install do. Today's cold-climate heat pumps are built to heat through our winters, and many homes run one as the main system with the existing furnace left in place as backup for the very coldest nights. We size it for real Maryland weather, not a brochure.

"Jay came out to my property and helped me with more than I even thought, which I was so grateful for. I thought I needed to replace my HVAC. He ended up fixing it without replacement, and he actually helped me out with a window frame issue that had been causing a bad draft and a slight leak when it rains. They fixed everything, would recommend them to anyone."
