The visit and placement planning
Your technician measures each room, plans where the wall unit goes and how the lines run, then checks your electrical panel.
Written proposal
You get the whole plan in writing. One room or several. Where each wall unit goes. How the lines run, where the water drains, and what wiring is needed. You see what the finished job looks like before you approve it.
Installation day
Your wall units go up. The lines run through a small hole, hidden inside a neat cover. The drains go in, then the outdoor unit gets set and wired. Most single-room installations wrap up in one day.
Final testing and walkthrough
The lines get pressure tested and the air pulled out of them. Then the system is charged by the numbers and every wall unit is run in both heat and cool. Your technician shows you how the remote works and how to clean the filters yourself.
One room, several rooms, and getting the size right
A single-room system connects one outdoor unit to one wall unit, and it is the right call when you have one room to solve. A multi-room system runs several wall units off one outdoor unit. That saves outdoor space, but it ties those rooms to shared equipment. Which one fits you comes down to how many spaces you need covered and how independently they run. The proposal walks through that reasoning instead of defaulting to one or the other.
Getting the size right matters even more with mini-splits than with central systems. A wall unit that is too big starts and stops, leaves the room damp, and hunts constantly in mild weather. Do mini-splits heat and cool?
Yes. A ductless mini-split is a heat pump, so the same equipment heats you in winter and cools you in summer. Each wall unit controls its own space. Cooling-only units exist, and they rarely make sense here, because the heat comes with the same install. Every system we propose handles both seasons.
Do ductless mini-splits work in winter?
Yes. Cold-weather mini-splits keep putting out useful heat well below what our winters normally reach. Those numbers come from the maker, not from a sales pitch. The written proposal for your installation lists the real low-temperature ratings of the equipment we propose.
How many rooms can one outdoor unit serve?
Common outdoor units serve two to five wall units, and larger equipment goes further. Whether that suits you depends on your rooms. Spaces that run on very different schedules sometimes do better on separate systems. The visit sizes each space on its own, and the proposal explains the reasoning in plain words.
Do you repair existing mini-split systems?

Yes, in two ways. You rinse the washable filters in each of your wall units every month or two, which takes minutes. A service visit covers the deeper work. Cleaning the coil. Checking the fan wheel. Servicing the drain. Checking the refrigerant and testing the wiring. Skipping that deeper cleaning is the most common reason wall units start to smell.
How long do ductless mini-splits last?
Fifteen to twenty years is fair for good equipment installed correctly and kept up. That outlasts most central air conditioners, partly because these units start gently instead of slamming on. Neglected filters and dirty fan wheels are what cut the life short in practice, and both are avoidable.
Will a mini-split be loud in the room?
No. The wall unit is a small fan, and on its normal setting it runs quieter than your refrigerator. The outdoor unit makes more noise, which is why we plan where it sits during the visit, especially near your bedroom window or a neighbor's patio.
